Tosa Cares Personal Care Items Drive
WAUWATOSA, WI (September 20, 2018) – On Saturday, October 6, Wauwatosa residents can pick up a cup of apple cider and a home-baked cookie when they drop off a donation of full-size hygiene products or personal care items at First Congregational Church in Wauwatosa. All items will benefit Tosa Cares, a local non-profit organization that provides food, personal care items and other assistance to local families in need.
Items will be collected between 9 am. and 12 noon at the First Congregational Church parking lot, 1511 Church Street.
Tosa Cares has urgent need of toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, hand soap, bath soap, hair products and accessories, facial tissue, laundry detergent, men’s shaving supplies and adhesive bandages.
Last year, Tosa Cares helped over 500 people, many of whom were referred by the Wauwatosa Fire Department, Police Department, churches, and schools. Many needs are caused by a sudden job loss, health problem, house fire or other crisis. Income-qualified seniors also find help at Tosa Cares.
The First Congregational Church annual drive, sponsored by Circle 7, is Tosa Care’s only source for hygiene products. In 2017, First Congregational Church made its largest ever donation of personal care products due, in part, to the generosity of the local community.
