In the Nursery, paid staff and volunteers work together to provide a safe and fun environment for our littlest members. Two nursery rooms - one for infants and one for toddlers - are connected for easy caregiver access. Enforced safety policies help keep the area secure, and vibrating beepers assure parents that they can be reached immediately if a special need arises.

Pilgrim Fellowship and Other Camps, Conferences, or Trip Information for Teens
I am pleased to announce that I will be heading up our Jr. and Sr. PF programs in the coming school year. Our youth are so important to this Church, and they have the desire and energy to have an impact on the world around them! My goal is to offer activities that will allow our youth to grow spiritually, build relationships, and participate in community service projects.
We will typically meet on the first and third Sundays of the month, with a few exceptions in December and January. Jr. PF will meet from 5 – 6 PM, and Sr. PF will meet from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. We will kick-off the PF season on Sunday, September 19, so put the date on your calendar and look for more information in August. I am looking forward to this opportunity, and have the desire to take our Pilgrim Fellowship to new heights!!

Vacation Bible School
This summer’s Vacation Bible School will take place the evenings of August 2nd, 3rd and 4th from 5 - 7:30 PM. Our theme will focus on the Creation Story. Rev. Jan Kwiatkowski and Sunday School Director Tonia Wallner are in the process of creating the curriculum, format and activities for the program. We will start with a family meal each evening from 5 - 5:30, and the programming will begin following the meal. ANY and ALL MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH ARE WELCOME TO COME AND EAT WITH THE CHILDREN. It’s important that they know the entire church supports the time and energy our children give to learning what it means to live as a Christian person.
We will be looking for adults, tweens and teens to help with food, art, activities, teaching the stories, and general support wherever needed. You may contact Tonia Wallner at wallnert@firstchurchtosa.org about volunteering for these three nights.
We are looking forward to these three evenings with the youngest members of the church community. Registration forms may be found on our website or on the Welcome Table in the Atrium. Please return completed forms to Tonia by July 23rd.
Vacation Bible School is for children entering JK through entering 6th grade. The cost is $10/first child; $5/each additional child; $20/maximum per family. Don't forget to ask your friends, family, and neighbors to come too!
Happy Summer!
Covenant Class
You may be more familiar with the term "confirmation class." In Congregationalism, we study to "own the covenant." In our youth programs, Covenant Class is offered for 9th & 10th graders as a two-year study program in preparation for full church membership. Students survey the Bible, major Christian doctrine, the history of the Christian church and Congregationalism. In addition, students experience a variety of worship styles and participate in numerous service and outreach opportunities. Before joining the church (or owning the covenant) in spring, these students write their profession of faith.
Family Ministries
We also hold a number of occasional events for families through the course of the year. Vacation Bible School will be held August 4 - 8 from 9 - 11:45 a.m. Family Camp brings church families together for a weekend during August. The Christmas Workshop kicks off the Christmas season for everyone, from 3 year olds to grandparents. An Ice Cream Social is held in in the spring. As you may have guessed, we love families and food here at First Church 'Tosa.
Faith Finders
Mondays approximately once a month at 5:30 p.m. from September thru May
(Optional dinner at 5 p.m.)
Faith Finders is a fellowship group specifically designed for students in first grade through fifth grade. Our meetings will consist of several great activities including singing, games, fellowship, program time and working on community service projects. Later this summer we'll have our schedule for the 2010-2011 program year.
Drive-in Movie
6 p.m. in Friendship Lounge
The Drive-in Movie is usually held the 4th Friday of the month. Watch the website for our next feature. We ask that you please sign up at the Gathering Table in the Atrium or e-mail us at callena@firstchurchtosa.org. $4 gets you all the pizza, popcorn and lemonade you can eat.
Music Ministries
Children may also explore their musical gifts in the Cherub Choir for kids who are age three through first grade. The Junior Choir is for children in second through eighth grade. Our children and youth choirs sing periodically throughout the year in worship.
