Music Ministry
"Sing praises to God, sing praises..." Psalm 47:6
Music Director Lee Jacobi has held the First Church baton for more than 30 years and has
developed the varied choirs into an outstanding music ministry known around the city. Tom
Gregory is an accomplished organist, commanding First Church's 50-rank Moller, acknowledged
as one of the area's finest instruments.
You are invited to participate in the many musical opportunities of the church. Choir
members range from young to old, first-time singers and ringers to professional musicians,
children to grandparents - all bound together with a common dedication to the ministry of
music.
Adult Choirs
Firsh Church Choir
Sings at the 10:00 a.m. worship on Sunday mornings
Our adult singing choir participates weekly in worship as well as for special services such
as Holy Week and Thanksgiving. The choir also performs at two major choral events
for Christmas and Mother's Day. They rehearse on Thursday evenings. Enhancing the work of
the volunteer singers are:

Jubilation Ringers
Kimberly Williams directs our handbell choir which is open to all with an
interest in ringing. They
perform for selected worship services.
Brass Choir
The Brass Choir plays for the congregation at Christmas and on other special
occasions.
Children and Youth Choirs
One way children learn to love God is through the development of
their musical gifts. Children's choirs perform for selected worship services and practice
on Sunday mornings as needed.
Junior Choir
Children in the second through eighth grades develop their musical gifts under
the tutelage of director Roxanne Trump-Miles. The choir sings periodically throughout the
year at the Sunday worship and the special Christmas Concert.
Cherub Choir
Michelle Russ directs children ages three through first grade. The choir sings
periodically throughout the year at the Sunday worship.
Play an instrument? Periodically we need instrumentalists for worship and music events.
